One minute, the pressure is on the White House to pony up a believable excuse for misleading the nation.....the next, the headlines scream about the demise of Saddam's sons.....as if THAT will make a difference in the Middle East.
Other than having been dictator of Iraq, Saddam's power is questionable at best. The death of his sons is no more than a footnote - and certainly does not mean any real progress is being made to stabilize the region.
Regardless, you can look to the "liberal" press to glom onto this - and all the details surrounding it for the next few days. Analysts will chalk it up as a win for Blair/Bush; but even if it is.....the larger questions about the illegality of our invasion will still remain.
Whether or not they will be answered - is still classified.
Speaking of media distractions, the Pvt. Lynch story is coming to a close - without further discussion of the questionable facts surrounding her capture and "rescue".
