They're Here!

Not long after my last blog - things started to get busy. Alex started gave warning signals about sharp pains and pressure....and within a few minutes, we were headed to the O.R. - the girls were on their way! I knew it was serious when I was handed booties and a blue surgical outfit.

The birth was another amazingly quick and smooth delivery for Alex. Eleanor (6lbs-6oz - 19.75in) came into the world at 1:46pm, and her sister Quinn (5lbs-4oz - 18.5in)debuted at 1:52pm. Both are in great shape and nesting with Mom. I'm in the hospital restaurant - grabbing some lunch and taking a quick breather.

Well folks, it's as amazing as I thought it would be. They are as beautiful as I imagined. I am falling in love again....twice.

Photos coming soon!

Welcome to the Delivery Room

We're edging into the afternoon over at the hospital. The trip over and checking in went without a hitch. Alex didn't sleep at all last night due to plenty of pushing/pulling of the twins. Quinns' heart rate has been dropping in and out on the monitor - and the nurses have had to come in and make adjustments to insure that she is doing well. Alex received an epideral about an hour ago and is doing much better with the increased contractions and associated pain.

She took a short nap and just woke up.

COMING SOON: Eleanor and Quinn!

Hello all.

Despite not having blogging in what seems like an eternity, I am surfacing to let folks know that our new twin girls (Eleanor and Quinn) are set to make their big debut sometime tomorrow afternoon. Alex and I are headed to St. V's
this evening - and will start the process around midnight.

I may be blogging from the hospital with photos/commentary - we'll just see how it goes.

Strangely, I'm not very nervous, and all things are pointing toward a favorable delivery. Alex has been handling everything like a trooper, and has enjoyed being able to take it easier the last couple of weeks. Items have been purchased and built. Clothes washed and put away. The great welcome wagon has been prepared - and the detrius of babyland can be seen far and wide.

It's up to you - Eleanor and Quinn....my beautiful girls.
